ADIRONDACK LAKE CAMP RENTAL

Our family goes camping at least two times during the summer months. This summer was different, because it started out very wet, and our "house camping" didn't happen until the week before kids go back to school. We as a family had anticipated this week all summer long. And when it came it was a wonderful experience.

This year we had a different group of friends camping with us, Andrey and Sergey Tomoroksa along with their wives and children. I did some research on HomeAway.com and we all agreed on this nice 1700 sq. ft log house on Adirondack Lake in the town of Indian Lake. It has 4 bedrooms with queen size beds, 3 full bathrooms, a large family room, kitchen and dining area, and most importantly it was right on the lake.

The house was in a great location, 4th to last house on a dead-end street, just 2 miles from route 28. It was only 3 miles from the town center.

The Taylor's have owned this beautiful home for more than 10 years and this summer they decided to rent it for the first time. It was a hit and every week was booked, according to some neighbors.

We really enjoyed the interior wood work, and it felt like a cozy cabin in the woods. It was definitely spacious for 3 families and could easily accommodate 4 families with young kids. There was plenty of hang out room, especially the family and dining room.

There was a fully finished basement, which provided a nice cool environment during the hot days. We also enjoyed sitting out on the deck and watching the activity on the lake.

At the lakeside, there was plenty of room around the fire pit. John was nice enough to supply us with plenty of wood for a few nights of a good bonfire. We also brought some of our own heat treated wood. It was nice to have a dock. The kids really enjoyed playing in the water. The sandy bottom was fairly clean with some snail shells. The kids enjoyed walking barefoot and didn't get any cuts.

In the evenings we met several large toads and many frogs in the backyard. It made for some exciting moments for the kids, especially Adrian.

Before this camping trip, I did some reconfiguring of my old Yakima kayak racks, and it didn't work out as well as the Adarac by Access. This rack worked out really well and it was worth the investment.
