Little did I know but there are a couple different roads that lead to our nations's capital. The water highway is called the Potomac River. So our friends that reside in Virginia invited us down for a day on the water. We parked at Pohick Bay Regional Park and set out on a Yamaha twin engine boat. We got to experience the speed capabilities of this water beauty throughout the trip.
The trip to the capital is 25 miles (or about 2 hrs) via the river. So between here and there we sat backed and enjoyed the breezy view. We were grateful that this was not the first time our kids were on the boat. Adrian had periodic meltdowns due to the speed factor but he had no issues on the return trip.

Just beyond the Francis Scott Key bridge we found a spot to anchor among several boats in the area and take a dip with the kids. It's a great spot to relax and socialize because on a busy day there could be a 100 plus boats in the area. Before we knew it, an hour had gone by. After a little snack we headed back to Pohick Park.
Ariana's first time in D.C.
The return trip was slightly expedited due to calmer water and the need for speed. The kids were relaxed. The parents were content. Overall great trip. We are grateful to have spent some quality time with the Tatchin Family.
