The first half of the first full day was spent settling in and just relaxing in the house. Its very nice to have nothing on the agenda when vacationing. I'm the kind of person that always wants to go and do something, but that changed when we had our kids.
On this trip we had family coming and going all week long so it was a very dynamic family fellowship experience. But it was very nice to spend time with both sides of the family under one roof. It was nice to see everyone helping out with meals and participating in outdoor activities.
Later in the afternoon we took a hike in the 220 acre forest behind the house after more family had jointed us. My 15-month old son hiked one mile all by himself. I was very impressed and very excited about doing some future hikes in the High Peaks when he gets older.
