On the way back from the north shore we decided to stop by and check out the pineapple plantation. We recognized there were hundreds of acres of pineapple plants grown along Route 99 leading up to the plantation.
The first thing that we did was check out a garden planted with several varieties of pineapple plants. The sun was setting and it made so wonderful shadows in the garden, which made for a great setup for photos.
Just beyond the garden we came to the little pond with hundreds of goldfish. When you feed them they go crazy jumping out of the water. The kids enjoyed watching the fish show.
After walking around in the hot sun we were ready to try some of the famous soft serve pineapple ice cream. It turned out to be very delicious. It is made out of pineapples as well as topped with fresh pineapple. There is a nice mix of sweet and sour flavors. The only downside was that it comes only in one size which is a large serving. And it looks like a huge serving for kids.
Leaving the plantation we were meet with this beautiful view. There is something amazing about the mountains.
