ADIRONDACK VACATION DAY #4

The owner of the house proudly claimed that the mountain that he owned held some spectacular views of the lake and the surrounding hills. So we decided to check it out with the whole family. This time around Adrian wasn't really interested in hiking the whole way so he spent some quality time in my arms playing with acorns that he collected. It was an easy hike along a well used ATV trail. So we slowly made our way to the top through pines, birches and tall hardwoods. It was a warm day with plenty of small flies that enjoyed our company there and back. The summit had some really beautiful views. After a quick tour of the open property at the summit and a few family photos we quickly left. It would have been fun to hang out and even have a picnic but the flies were overbearing and there was plenty of wasps. My sister-in-law got stung in the arm. To my great delight Adrian was really tired and grumpy and he ended up falling asleep in my arms. So I decided to walking ahead of the group and bring him back to the house as quick as possible. He had a nice bouncy nap all the way to the house and as soon as I opened the door he was wide awake.

After we had seen some family off, I decided to take Alexis and her cousin Karina on a short kayaking trip on the lake. They were really excited and I wanted to check out the lake for some better fishing spots. We paddled to the northern part of the lake where the dam was located and then made our way back along the shore to look for fish. It was a peaceful paddle on a very calm lake. The girls enjoyed splashing in the water.
