ADIRONDACK VACATION HOME

For several years Lesya and I had wondered what it would be like to go "camping" in the Adirondacks but instead rent a house. At the same time our parents had also expressed how they would love to go camping with all of us again. So we planned a family get-away for the end of September.

I came across a wonderful house that was meeting all of our expectations: on the lake, five bedrooms, hiking and kayaking available, within close driving distance, and the house was big enough for all of the family to hang out.

When we got to the house and gave it a quick tour we knew that the accommodations exceeded our expectations. To say the least, it was a fully furnished 3,700 sq ft house sitting on a 220-acre wooded lot on the Great Sacandaga Lake in Hadley, NY. The bedroom arrangements couldn't be more perfect, the kitchen and dining areas were huge, cathedral ceiling living room, fully finished basement with pool table, plenty of play room on the deck that surrounded the house, gas & charcoal grill, two great places for entertainment, and much more.

For us personally as a family it was a really nice place to stay. Hiking was available in the backyard. Kayaking was at the lake across the street. The weather was warm so there was plenty of time to spent outdoors. Even if the weather was bad there was plenty of things to do inside the house that one wouldn't be bored for weeks.
