ADIRONDACK VACATION: DINING OUT!

On the first day of our vacation we got into town at a late hour and we decided to eat out locally instead of cooking. The only issue was that we were unfamiliar with the area and our cellphones didn't have service and therefore we couldn't use our GPS. As we approached an intersection we were  very grateful to a couple that lived locally and pointed us in the right direction.

We reached our destination, Waterhouse Resturant in the town of Lake Luzerne. Our first impression was a rustic but comfy looking place to dine with the family. We were the only customers on the dining side of the restaurant. It was actually nice to be the only ones there because the kids played around like they owned the place.

The entree menu was a mix of Italian dishes and American steaks. They also had plenty of seafood choices. There was also some lighter options like sandwiches and burgers.

Overall the dining experience was good, the staff was friendly and the food was delilicous. The best part of evening was the calamari appetizer. This is the first time that I had calamari that had some minced garlic added to the dish. The combination of being really hungry and the garlic tasting calamari was a great start to the meal.

Another place that was recommended to us but we didn't get a chance to try it out was the Upriver Cafe in Hadley, a town next door to Lake Luzerne.
